First, you can find con pics here- http://djranmas.mypockybox.com/gallery/a nimeboston2007. Yes I know that some pictures have to rerotated, they will be worked on. ^^
Second, my statement regarding Anime Bostong judging-
Well it seems that people have been asking what happened at Anime Boston, so here it is.
During the judging, I had said that one of the skits looked cookie cut, as in the outfit. I had said this because at the time we were to decide on Best In Show and that skit came up. I had said that from a presentation POV, not from a craftsmanship POV. Now right before I had said that, there was a communication issue. It was first said that we should decide for BIS first, then work our way down. Immediately after that, that decision was changed to break up the craftsmanship and presentation judges to vote on their own awards. Then the decision was reversed. I had asked what we were to do and if I remember correctly, we were to all vote Best In Show first.
After I had made my comment, the craftsmanship judges said that we weren't doing the Best In Show award and we were splintering off to separate groups. After all the awards were decided, two judges said to me that I might have said something that might have caused a group to not win Best In Show. I profusely apologized and explained that I said that from a presentation POV and I thought that were were all deciding on the Best In Show award first, not individually. I also explained that I wasn't trying to cause any problems.
And that is what happened. I already apologized to the group for what had happened. Again I apologize for the situation and how that all came about. But I do stand behind my comment and I have in fact owned up to what I said.
You might ask yourself if I am qualified to be a judge. And I am. I have been cosplaying for nine years and have won numerous presentation awards on the novice, journeyman, and craftsmanship level on my own and with the help of my cosplay friends. I have judged a previous anime convention as well as organized a few masquerades.
I shall continue to judge at anime cons if I am selected.
I hope that this clears up all and any issues. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail at ranma@djranmas.net or via AIM (DJ Ranma S).
It was not my goal to cause any problems or issues at this con, so I hope that this clears up the air. I look forward to seeing you all at the next anime convention.
Take care and have a great day.
I ask that everyonekeeps this drama free and I will respond to any and all quiestions. If I feel that anything said starts along the lines of being very dramaish, I shall screen said entries and/or email/IM you to discuss matter further.
